In 2012, she was rewarded the “Ladies of Accomplishment Award” through the Women’s Task Theater and a 2010 Lily Award and a 2008 Weston Playhouse Music-Theatre Award among additional notables.
Early life and education
Adams can be an American playwright originally from Ipswich, Massachusetts, though with dual Irish and American citizenship. She's a BFA from NYU's Experimental Movie theater Wing, and an MFA in Playwriting from Yale College of Crisis. She was the 2012–2013 Briggs-Copeland Going to Lecturer in Playwriting at Harvard College or university. She actually is an alumna of New Dramatists (2001-2008).
Charles Isherwood, in his NY Times overview of her historical play Or, wrote, "Ms. Adams fares incredibly well. Her vocabulary has a organic period taste and a formidable wit; her people contain the spark of completely cartoon spirits; and she weaves into her tale both biographical details and cultural framework with sophistication."
