Biography

Liz Duffy Adams can be an American playwright that has written many takes on including THE PERFECT Beast,The Reckless Ruthless, Brutal Charge of It/Teach Play, Dog Work, One Big Lay, The Listener, Or, while others. In 2012, she was rewarded the “Ladies of Accomplishment Award” through the Women’s Task Theater and a 2010 Lily Award and a 2008 Weston Playhouse Music-Theatre Award among additional notables.

Early life and education

Adams can be an American playwright originally from Ipswich, Massachusetts, though with dual Irish and American citizenship. She's a BFA from NYU's Experimental Movie theater Wing, and an MFA in Playwriting from Yale College of Crisis. She was the 2012–2013 Briggs-Copeland Going to Lecturer in Playwriting at Harvard College or university. She actually is an alumna of New Dramatists (2001-2008).

Charles Isherwood, in his NY Times overview of her historical play Or, wrote, "Ms. Adams fares incredibly well. Her vocabulary has a organic period taste and a formidable wit; her people contain the spark of completely cartoon spirits; and she weaves into her tale both biographical details and cultural framework with sophistication."

She's held residencies in the MacDowell Colony, Millay Colony for the arts, as well as the Djerassi Citizen Artists system. She was profiled in "American Theater" magazine, Dec 2004.
