Les Chadwick


John Leslie “Les” Chadwick (created 11 Might 1943, Aigburth, Liverpool, Lancashire, Britain) can be an English bassist.


Chadwick's bass electric guitar work could be heard on every one of the 1960s recordings created by the pop group, Gerry & the Pacemakers.Chadwick originally didn't very own a bass electric guitar and played a typical Fender Stratocaster using the bass environment exaggerated until finding a proper bass. He ultimately obtained a sunburst Epiphone Rivoli bass which he utilized for some of his shows using the Pacemakers. This bass is seen in the film Ferry Combination the Mersey, where Chadwick includes a substantial function as Gerry Marsden's sidekick "Chad".Like many British bassists from the era, he used a plectrum and favoured short size hollow body basses like the Epiphone and a Höfner Verythin.On 19 Oct 1961, the Beatles and Gerry & the Pacemakers merged to be the 'Beatmakers', to get a one-off efficiency in Litherland Town Hall. The line-up comprised Gerry Marsden, George Harrison, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, Les Maguire, Pete Greatest, Freddy Marsden, plus vocalist Karl Terry through the Cruisers with Chadwick on bass electric guitar.When the Pacemakers split in 1966, he bought a garage area with fellow former Pacemaker, Les Maguire. In 1973, Chadwick shifted to Sydney, Australia, where he create an employment company.
