She visited William B. Murrah SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL and performed collegiately for LSU. She actually is the cousin of NFL quarterback Jason Campbell.
Barrett was named to the united states Women's U19 group which represented the united states in this year's 2009 U19 World's Tournament, held in Bangkok, Thailand in July and August 2009. Although the united states team dropped the opening video game to Spain, they continued to earn their following seven video games to generate a rematch against Spain in the finals, and received the overall game 81–71 to generate the platinum medal. Barrett obtained 6.0 factors per game.
She was selected in the first round from the 2012 WNBA Draft (10th overall) from the Washington Mystics.
