Biography

Kevin Arthur Hugh Campbell (delivered 1950) is a former South African international lawn bowler. Campbell became the youngest ever Springbok international aged 24 and his mom and dad both won country wide titles. Campbell found prominence in 1976 when he won the Triples and Fours Yellow metal Medal on the Globe Outdoor Championships in Johannesburg. In the Triples with Nando Gatti and Kelvin Lightfoot they earned 14 of their 15 fits. In the fours with Gatti, Lightfoot and Costs Moseley they repeated the feat of earning 14 from the 15 matches performed. The South African team completed a clean sweep of most events on the 1976 Globe Outdoor Bowls Tournament. The yard bowlers from South Africa had been denied further possibilities to earn medals because of the Showing off boycott of South Africa through the apartheid era. Sixteen years later on he won the triples sterling silver medal and fours bronze medal on the 1992 World Outdoor Bowls Tournament in Worthing accompanied by another bronze on the 1996 World Outdoor Bowls Tournament in Adelaide. He also won a sterling silver on the 2002 Manchester.
