Biography

Jorge “Tote” Castañeda Reyes (given birth to 12 January 1970 in Guadalajara, Jalisco) is a retired professional footballer from Mexico, who played like a midfielder during his profession. He was the captain from the Mexico nationwide football team contending in the 1992 Summer season Olympics in Barcelona, Spain.

Career

In 1987, when he was eighteen, Castañeda agreed upon with Membership Atlas. He continued to be with Atlas until 1996. On 13 March 1997, Castañeda agreed upon using the Colorado Rapids of Main Group Soccer. He came back to Mexico and completed his profession with Cruz Azul, Cruz Azul Hidalgo, Tecos de UAG, Tigrillos and Lobos de la BUAP.Castañeda managed Atlas with an interim basis following Rubén Omar Romano's departure in Sept 2007.

Personal

Castañeda's sibling, Guadalupe, was also a specialist footballer.
