Biography

John ‘Straw’ Andrew (Australia), was a rugby little league footballer in Australias main competition – the brand new South Wales Rugby Little league(NSWRL).

Career

John Andrew played for the Eastern Suburbs membership, playing 38 fits In the years 1960-62. A fullback, 'Straw' was an associate from the Easts aspect that transpired to St George in the 1960 Grand Last. Andrew needed to be stretchered in the field after breaking a knee in the match.In 1962 the fullback suffered a far more serious injury when he broke his neck after being speared in to the ground within a tackle.He retired from Rugby Group soon after.
