During the Further World Battle, Brauner was evacuated in January 1945 along with his mother and three siblings from Breslau (Wroclaw) to Saale in Thuringia. In 1958 he required a state examination to be always a college instructor of German in the Pedagogical Institute in Leipzig. In August 1958 he escaped from East Germany via Western Berlin towards the Federal government Republic of Germany. In the next years he worked well in Hamburg, amongst others, in a visual arts institute, and later on like a clerk within an insurance company.He started doing work for ARD tv in 1974.On 9 Oct 2004 Brauner was on ARD going back time, stopping a thirty-year profession doing work for the newscast. Within the ARD-theme week 2008, he spoke on 21 Apr 2008 in the ARD tv once more on recurring text messages every half hour on the news headlines.As a soccer enthusiast, Brauner was a longtime announcer at HSV with the annual event, the International Golf Championships for women and men at Hamburg Rothenbaum.
