Ian Callanan (given birth to 17 March 1971 in Cork, Ireland), is a author of Catholic liturgical music and a modern Christian songwriter most widely known for composing the hymn “Comfort and ease My People” and “Take and Eat, That is my own body”.

In his own terms, Callanan is "among Ireland’s leading composers of liturgical music. He hails type Cork and continues to be associated with liturgical music his lifetime. He continues to be composing music for over twenty years and lately has created his first documenting for GIA Magazines in america.
