Ghulam Nabi Azad (given birth to 7 March 1949, in Jammu and Kashmir, India) can be an Indian politician in the Indian Country wide Congress and was the Minister of Health insurance and Family Welfare. Currently, he acts as the first choice of opposition in Rajya Sabha. He was the Parliamentary Affairs Minister of India in the federal government of Perfect Minister Manmohan Singh until 27 Oct 2005, when he was appointed seeing that the principle Minister of Jammu and Kashmir. He led the party effectively in the 2002 Set up election in Jammu and Kashmir.

Early life

Gulam Nabi Azad was created in the community Soti in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda region.He was created to Rahamatullah Batt and Basa Begum. He visited college in his community. He transferred to Jammu and completed his Bachelor's level from G.G.M. Research College in research. Subsequently, he finished a Master's in Zoology in the School of Kashmir in 1972.

Political career

Azad started his political profession soon after functioning while the secretary for the Stop Congress Committee in Bhalessa in 1973. 2 yrs later on, he was nominated as the Chief executive from the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youngsters Congress. In 1980, he was appointed as the Chief executive from the All-India Youngsters Congress.After being elected towards the Seventh Lok Sabha from Maharashtra's Washim (Lok Sabha constituency) in 1980, Azad entered in to the Central government as Deputy Minister responsible for Legislation, Justice and Organization Affairs Ministry in 1982.Consequently, he was elected towards the Eighth Lok Sabha in 1984 and was an initial member (1990 - 1996) from Maharashtra like a Rajya Sabha. During Rao's authorities, Azad required charge of Parliamentary Affairs and Civil Aviation ministries. He was consequently elected to Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir through the term of 30/11/1996 to 29/11/2002 and 30/11/2002 to 29/11/2008, but resigned on 29/04/2006 as he became Main Minister of Jammu and Kashmir on 2 November 2005.

Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir

In June 2008, Azad's federal government announced programs to transfer property to the plank of the Hindu shrine. Many Muslims had been angered by this decision and protested, leading the federal government to cancel the transfer; nevertheless, this reversal provoked Hindu protests. Seven individuals were reported wiped out in assault that followed these protests. The People's Democratic Party, a coalition partner from the Indian Country wide Congress in Jammu and Kashmir, withdrew its support for Azad's federal government, and instead of attempt to maintain his federal government by asking for a vote of self-confidence, Azad resigned on 7 July 2008, and afterwards left workplace on 11 July 2008.

Union government

In the next United Progressive Alliance Government, led by Dr. Manmohan Singh, Mr. Azad, was sworn in as medical Minister of India. He was elected to Rajya Sabha for 4th term and 3rd term from Jammu and Kashmir through the term of 30/11/1996 to 29/11/2002. He vowed to increase the Country wide Rural Health Objective, which includes mobilized half of a million wellness workers, all over India, and later on his ministry also released a Country wide Urban Health Objective, to provide the slum dwelling metropolitan poor.He has suggested a past due marriage age group of between 25 and 30 for human population control, and has said that insufficient electricity & therefore absence of Television entertainment in rural areas may cause people to create more children.

Leader of opposition

In June 2014, following the Country wide Democratic Alliance earned many in the Lok Sabha and formed the Union federal government, Azad was appointed as the first choice of opposition in the Rajya Sabha, where Congress even now held almost all.In 2015, Azad got relected towards the Rajya Sabha from Jammu and Kashmir, regardless of the PDP-BJP alliance holding most chairs in the Legislative Assembly.

Personal life

Azad married Shameem Dev Azad, a favorite Kashmiri singer, in 1980, plus they have a kid Saddam Nabi Azad and a little girl Sofiya Nabi Azad.
