Biography

Elbekay Bouchiba (given birth to 1 November 1978) is a Dutch footballer of Moroccan descent who last played for Toronto FC in Main League Soccer.

Club career

Bouchiba is a midfielder who was simply given birth to in Weert who began his profession in the youngsters rates of Willem II and made his debut in professional soccer, being area of the AZ squad in the 1998–99 period. He produced his Eredivisie debut within a 2–0 success over Sparta Rotterdam on 22 August 1998. He also performed for Sparta Rotterdam and FC Twente before signing up for Roda JC. His most successful period in the Eredivisie was the 2001–02 period where he made an appearance in 29 group fits for Sparta Rotterdam. On 10 August 2002 he have scored his initial two goals for Sparta within a 2–1 success over HFC Haarlem within a 2002–03 KNVB Glass match. During his period with Sparta Rotterdam Bouchiba made an appearance in 58 public matches and have scored 3 goals. While with FC Twente Bouchiba continued trial stints with Cardiff Town and 1. FC Köln. Bouchiba made an appearance in 127 group matches in holland, including 111 Eredivisie performances.In 2008, he moved to Al-Wakrah in the Qatari Group. Through the 2009–10 period he performed for Al-Shamal.

Major League Soccer

In January 2011 Bouchiba continued trial with Toronto FC of Main League Soccer hoping of protecting a contract. On 15 Feb 2011 it had been reported that he previously agreed to conditions using the Canadian membership. However it had not been officially announced with the Canadian membership until 9 March 2011. Bouchiba was among three Dutch players agreed upon by Toronto, both Nick Soolsma and Javier Martina also became a member of the membership. Bouchiba didn't start to see the field during his initial period with Toronto because of ACL knee damage, in mid Oct he came back to practicing using the group and mentioned that he's getting excited about playing next period using the group. He was waived by Toronto FC on 28 Feb 2012.
