Biography

Sir Sze-yuen Chung GBM GBE FREng (Chinese language: 鍾士元; created 3 November 1918 in Hong Kong) can be a Hong Kong mechanised engineer, industrialist, business professional and politician. He been successful Sir Yuet-Keung Kan, as the Senior Unofficial Person in the Legislative Council and Professional Council in 1980 and offered in the second option body until his 1st pension from politics in 1988. He once more became influential in Hong Kong politics when Tung Chee-Hwa assumed any office of the principle Professional of Hong Kong; Tung appointed him as the Convenor from the Professional Council, that he retired on 15 June 1999.

Early life

Chung was created in 1917 to a middle-class family members in Hong Kong. In 1936, he visited Shanghai and analyzed civil executive at Saint John's University or college, Shanghai. In 1939, he wedded Cheung Yung-Hing in southeastern Chinese language province of Jiangxi (Kiangsi).Because of the pass on of Second Sino-Japanese Battle, Chung had to come back to Hong Kong in 1941 before his undergraduate level could possibly be completed. He continuing his research in mechanised engineering in the University or college of Hong Kong and graduated. After graduation, he worked well as a mechanised engineer for Hong Kong and Whampoa Dock. In 1948, he was granted a scholarship or grant from University or college of Sheffield. 3 years later he gained his doctorate.Chung returned to Hong Kong in 1951 and worked as mechanical engineer inside a production firm for 12 months. In 1951, he founded his own company Chung Sze Yuen Executive.
