Chung Sanghwa

Biography

Chung Sanghwa (given birth to 1932, Yeongdeok Region, North Gyeongsang, Korea) is a South Korean minimalist and Dansaekhwa (monochromatic) painter. After getting his BFA from University of Good Arts in Seoul Country wide College or university in 1956, Chung briefly shifted to Paris in 1967. From the era of post-war performers, Chung’s reductive procedure for painting includes repetitive software and removal of the color on canvas. Chung kept national and worldwide exhibitions, including FROM ALL Edges: TANSAEKHWA ON ABSTRACTION at Blum & Poe Gallery in LA. In 2015, Chung Sanghwa’s paintings had been contained in Frieze NY Artwork Fair, displayed by Gallery Hyundai. Gallery Hyundai(Seoul, Korea) offers organized a lot more than 25 of Chung’s exhibitions, including 9 single displays since 1983.
