Biography

Christian John Brien is definitely a drummer, percussionist and drum clinician. From 1992 he was an associate of Australian rock and roll, funk and disco music group, Swoop and shows up on all three of their studio room albums, Thriller (Oct 1993), Woxo Basic principle (November 1995), and become What You Is definitely (January 1999). Their most well-known single, “Apple Eye”, premiered in 1995, which reached No. 9 within the ARIA Singles Graph. In the ARIA Music Honours of 1994 Swoop had been nominated for ‘Greatest New Talent’ for Thriller; in the 1996 honours these were nominated for ‘Music of the Yr’ and ‘Greatest Video’ for “Apple Eye”, as well as for ‘Greatest Pop Launch’ for Woxo Basic principle. Past due in 1999 Swoop disbanded, Brien became a program musician and drum clinician, and offers released solo materials. He offers released several instructional Dvd disks including Self-reliance (2002) and Self-reliance, Component 2 (2004). In November 2006 he relocated to Hong Kong, where he released his instructional publication, The Chris Brien Drumming Program (Level One), in past due 2010.

Christian John Brien was raised in Sydney as the youngest of five kids, both his father and grandfather are previous drummers. He began playing drums in 1980, from 1986 he trained drum and percussion, and in 1988 he founded his 1st drumming studio room. In 1992 he became a member of a rock and roll, funk and disco music group, Swoop, which got formed like a duo, the prior yr, with Roland P. Kapferer on business lead vocals and Joshua Beagley on acoustic guitar and keyboards. A pal dubbed him the "Drumming Wizard of Oz". In Oct 2005 he released his instructional publication, Progressive Rhythms, including usage of his on-line video lessons. In November 2006 he relocated to Hong Kong and setup his drumming program there from Apr 2007 while still working two drumming studios in Sydney. In past due 2010 he released another instructional publication, The Chris Brien Drumming Program (Level One).
