Bernie Anderson Jr. is definitely a silent film music composer, organist and orchestrator. He offers offered live accompaniments for silent movies, with theatre body organ and piano since 1995. He’s also mixed up in preservation and repair of Film Palaces, Theater organs and Vintage Film.
Early musical training
A native of NJ, Bernie started taking part in keyboard at age five. He gained his Bachelor of Music summa cum laude from Montclair Condition University or college in Music Structure and a Grasp of Good Arts at NY University, Tisch College from the Arts Graduate Musical Theater Writing System. Bernie became thinking about silent movies after meeting famous silent film organist Lee Erwin. Lee became a significant impact on Bernie's structure.
Silent film music composition and performance
Bernie began composing and executing his silent film ratings for body organ and piano in 1995 using a verification of Chaplin's "Yellow metal Hurry". From 1990 to 2004, Anderson was home organist for the Union State Arts Middle (formerly referred to as the Rahway Theater) in Rahway, NJ and personnel organist on the Lafayette Theater (Suffern), NY from 1992-2005. On Apr 21, 2002, THE BRAND NEW York Moments reported that Bernie would accompany the silent film Move Western world (1925 film) starring Buster Keaton on the restored Lafayette Movie theater in Suffern, NY, a restored 1921 cinema that had set up a restored Wurlitzer tube organ. Students of renowned silent film organist Lee Erwin and previous Radio Town Music Hall home organist Ashley Miller, he provides performed thoroughly in the brand new York City region in such locations as Radio Town Music Hall,the Paramount Theater (Brooklyn, NY)(today LIU Fitness center) in Brooklyn, NY, The Donnell Collection (NY Public Collection) as well as the Dickinson Theater Organ Culture,. In 2003, he was the organist for the Library of Congress American Film Classics Film Preservation tour. He produced his Capitol Theater debut on the 2005 Capitolfest film celebration and provides performed at each one of the successive Capitolfests. Bernie provides recorded new ratings for 4 Dvd videos within the last 5 years, including American Slapstick, Vol.1 for Picture Distribution. Mr. Anderson, lately, performed for the grand starting from the Bound Brook Theater in Bound Brook, NJ using the film "the Being successful of Barbara Worthy of". In July 2003, Bernie got the pleasure to be the premiere organist for AGO's Tube Body organ Encounter (POE) that was kept at Radio Town Music Hall in the Music Hall's 4/58 Wurlitzer. In Feb 2005, inside a concert with Dave Kopp, Bernie performed the first general public NYTOS concert at Radio Town Music Hall since 1979.
In 2005, he wrote the orchestrations for a fresh musical, THE LADY in the Framework, presented at Goodspeed Opera Home in Connecticut, and posted by Theatrical Legal rights World-wide in 2007. IN-MAY 2000, Bernie teamed up with Broadway Composer, William Finn to create 2 new tunes predicated on Ogden Nash poems commissioned by THE BRAND NEW Yorker Magazine for his or her 75 many years of Fresh Yorker Humor festival, "I Say It's Spinache!" in the Townhall Theater in NEW YORK.
