Biography

Altevir Silva Filho de Araújo (given birth to Dec 23, 1955) is a retired sprinter from Brazil, he was a Brazilian champ, but he was most widely known for being successful two platinum medals (100 and 200 metres) in the 1979 South American Championships in Bucaramanga, Colombia. He represented his local country in the 1980 Summer time Olympics, where he was eliminated in the next round from the men’s 200 metres. In the same competition he completed in 8th place using the men’s relay group in the 4×100 metres, alongside Milton de Castro, Nelson Rocha dos Santos, and Katsuhiko Nakaya.
